SEO ROI Calculator

SEO is an investment case, not an act of faith — and the case should be modelled before you spend. This calculator runs a traffic scenario through your real conversion rates and margin to show what improved visibility would be worth per month, and how many extra customers cover the cost.

Model conservatively — this is the assumption everything hangs on.

Using this honestly

Everything downstream of "projected visits" is arithmetic; the projection itself is the assumption — so model conservatively and let results replace assumptions. Nobody can promise a ranking or a traffic number, and a provider who guarantees one is telling you something about themselves. What can be verified monthly: whether visits, enquiries and customers from search are actually rising against the baseline.

The most useful output is often the smallest: break-even customers. If £495 per month needs 1–2 extra customers to pay for itself, you can judge that against your own sense of what better visibility would bring — a far more honest conversation than any projected revenue figure.

Common questions

How long does SEO take to pay back?

For local businesses, meaningful movement typically shows in 3–6 months, with compounding after that — but it varies with competition and starting point. Model the first year with conservative traffic numbers and treat faster results as upside.
