AI Readiness Checker

AI assistants increasingly answer "best plumber near me" questions — but they can only recommend businesses they can read and understand. This tool measures whether your website gives AI systems what they need: readable content, a machine-readable identity, clear structure and corroborating signals.

Any public page. We read it once, the way search engines do, and store nothing.

At a glance

What it does, what it reads, what it cannot see

Every tool on this site states its scope in the same six lines, so you know what a result means before you act on it.

You enter
A page address
You get
An AI Readiness Score, the structured-data and AI-readiness checks with evidence, and what to fix
It reads
The initial HTML of the page you enter, fetched once from our server; no JavaScript is run
It cannot see
Whether any assistant actually cites you (that is the live test), and anything only JavaScript renders
It takes

AI readiness62

AI systems can partly understand this site.

Business entity markupNeeds attention

Structured data exists but no business-entity type was detected (found: WebSite).

Why it matters: Without an Organization/LocalBusiness entity, machines have no anchor for your business facts.

What to do: Add LocalBusiness (or the specific subtype for your sector) markup with real business details.

Machine-readable business identityNeeds attention

There is no structured business identity for AI systems to anchor on — they must infer everything from prose.

Why it matters: AI assistants ground recommendations in machine-readable facts; without them you rely on inference.

What to do: Add complete LocalBusiness structured data (name, address, phone, hours, services, sameAs links).

Questions answered on the site (FAQs)Note

No FAQ content was detected on the checked pages.

Why it matters: AI answers are built from questions and answers — sites that answer real customer questions get cited more.

What to do: Add a genuine FAQ section answering the questions customers actually ask.

How to read it

The page is readable by an assistant (the text says what the practice does and where), but there is nothing machine-readable that says what it is: the only structured data is a WebSite node, not a Dentist or LocalBusiness with an address and phone. That is the first fix, and the schema generator on this site writes it. The FAQ note is lower priority: it is about giving assistants direct answers to the questions people ask, not about rich results, which Google no longer shows for FAQs on most sites.

Meadowbank Dental is a fictional practice written for these examples: the result above is what this tool’s code produces on that page, regenerated whenever the site is built, and is not a real business’s data.

How it works

What this tool measures, and what it leaves alone

Read this before you act on a result. Every tool here states its method and its limits in the same breath.

AI readiness is not AI visibility

Readiness is what you control on your website: can an AI crawler fetch your pages, read your content without executing JavaScript, find structured data saying who you are, and find links to the profiles that let machines corroborate you elsewhere? This tool measures all of that from your own pages — it checks that corroborating links exist, not what the external sources themselves say.

Visibility is the outcome — whether assistants actually mention or recommend you when customers ask. A website crawl alone cannot measure that: real visibility measurement means running representative customer prompts against live AI systems and watching the results over time. Our free Live AI Visibility Test runs a three-prompt sample right now; ongoing, multi-provider tracking is part of our paid monitoring work.

Why the initial HTML matters so much

Google renders JavaScript; many AI crawlers do not, or do so unreliably. A site whose content only exists after JavaScript runs can look perfectly normal to a human and nearly empty to the systems deciding whether to cite it. This checker reads your site exactly the way those crawlers do, so a low content score here is a genuine warning, not a technicality.

Questions

Common questions

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?

No — and nobody honestly can. What you can control is being readable, well-evidenced and consistently described everywhere AI systems look. This tool measures the readable part; our services work on the evidence and consistency.

Which AI systems does this apply to?

The checks reflect how AI crawlers in general fetch pages (initial HTML, structured data, entity signals) rather than any one product. The same foundations serve ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and AI Overviews.

If you need more than the tool

A weak result here usually means changes to your site’s code and structured data — which is fine if you have a developer, and a wall if you do not.
